Top 10 Movies that Would Make Great TV Spinoffs

So, with the success of shows like Hannibal & Fargo, as well as 12 Monkeys & Truman Show tv shows in the works, I've decided to talk about a bunch of movies I think would make great Tv shows. Oh, and tv producers? You can totally write this stuff down.

10. Toy Story
One of the channels that would show this show

What would it be about? The same thing as the film, a bunch of toys that become alive. This time, they'd have to have new characters, but it still surprises me nobody has done this yet. The series is so popular, and the short films are also really popular. I would think Disney of all companies would cash in on this. It probably wouldn't be a program I'd watch, but I could see this being a thing.

9. Léon: The Professional
AMC

What would it be about? It would serve as a continuation of the film, following the Mathilda character in her adulthood. I've always been interested in what happened to her character. Did she grow up to have a successful life, but have that killer instinct buried in the back of her mind? Or would she be a "cleaner" like Leon? Either could make a cool show.

8. Sin City
FX

What would it be about? Much like American Horror Story & True Detective (and the original film itself), this series would be an anthology series. Each season would be a different story from the underbelly of society that is Sin City. Granted, there isn't a limitless amount of graphic novels for the series to base itself on, but seeing as how Robert Rodriguez has created a whole new story with the Johnny character for Sin City 2, I could totally see them coming up with new stories.

7. Donnie Darko
AMC

What would it be about? The series would probably have the same plot as the film, but heavily expanded upon. The characters would be given some more characterization, the whole paradox of Donnie Darko could have even more twists & turns. The show would probably have to be a miniseries to work, this isn't a story you can drag for too long, but I want this to happen. Another possibility is a continuation of the first film, with people finding out more about what really went down one night in Virginia, and leading to even more mysterious things.

6. The Big Lebowski
HBO or Showtime

What would it be about? Same thing as the film, the show would follow The Dude & Walter through even more wacky adventures and even more crazy characters. Seeing as how this is another Coen Brothers film, I could totally see them writing this show as well. Unlike Fargo, It would have to be the same characters, but I think it would work.

5. Django Unchained
HBO

What would it be about? Much like HBOs other super successful western, "Deadwood", this would be a western series. It would probably follow the title character being a badass bounty hunter in Tarantinos western world, which could lead to a really cool episodic series. The series would have to be fairly short, because this idea could run dry quickly. Or it could be awesome forever, who knows.

4. Pacific Rim
Syfy

What would it be about? Jaegers fighting Kaijus. For 30 minutes or an hour weekly. Does that sound as awesome to you as it does to me? I hope so. I would watch this show so much. Make it happen. Petition this. I know this is the #4 spot, so I'm getting too hyped over this, but make it happen!

3. The Matrix
Syfy

What would it be about? Once again, this would be an episodic series. But, it would be set inside the Matrix. None of that Zion crap, this series would have all the cool special effects and awesome fight scenes from The Matrix. It would basically be a karate & slow motion show, but again, that sounds amazing.

2. The Cabin in the Woods
AMC

What would it be about? This one would have to delve quite a bit away from the source material to work. But, what it could be about is the two scientists from the film, played by Richard Jenkins & Bradley Whitford, having to save the world. Joss Whedon could take these characters into a new direction, with having them have certain missions and certain things happening in the labs to keep the show interesting and engaging.

This section is a version of an honorable mentions section. These are films that could make awesome tv shows, if only we didn't already have a tv show that would be very similar.

1. Pulp Fiction
HBO

What would it be about? This show could not just become an awesome anthology series / mini-series. If it were to be made, this might be the best anthology series / mini-series ever. Tarantinos style mixed in with the world from Pulp Fiction would be hands down one of the coolest series ever put on television. Tarantino would have to write it, of course. But, by god, this would be spectacular.
