Lazy Film Critic Movie Reviews
Kill Command
So if you've been following this blog for a while, you probably know about one film that I got really hyped up about back in Spring and never got the chance to see, until now. That film is Kill Command, a low-budget indie sci-fi action film about rogue AI, and the reason I got so hyped about it was that I always want to support the underground science fiction community, and this one looked pretty cool. And low and behold, pretty cool is exactly what it is.
I'm gonna keep this review fairly short, because honestly there isn't a ton to talk about with this movie. This is pretty much a quintessential a minimalist action film, and with that come some pros and cons. The pros, and what I particularly enjoyed with this movie is that it doesn't delve too far into what could've been a convoluted and confusing plot, it keeps it short, simple, and to the point. The cons are that it's fairly cookie cutter and predictable, and that this holds the film back in the way of getting a unique experience out of it. It's nothing you haven't seen a million times before is what I'm saying.
This is also a very low budget indie sci-fi movie, and I gotta say there's some technical elements that really impressed me with that in mind. For starters, the CGI is actually really good for something as minimalist as this is, it's never Hollywood level but its certainly worthy of giving a pass. And with this being a low-budget indie sci-fi, of course I'm going to give it some extra merit.
Final Rating
Kill Command isn't the most noteworthy or special movie experience, but I'd say it's certainly worth your time. There's enough here that this movie is more than worth watching as a fun little distraction, but it's hardly anything more than that. It's a good time, so I'd say it's not a bad idea to check this one out.
