February 2015 Watchlist

Article by Gabe Zia
It's over people. January is over, and so now movies that I will actually see are going to come out. There still aren't that many films in this month, but there are a few that have peaked my interest. No, before anyone asks, Fifty Shades of Grey is absolutely not one of them.

February 6th

Jupiter Ascending
Channing Tatum, Mila Kunis, Sean Bean, Eddie Redmayne
The Wachowski brothers are a bit of a dodgy subject to me. Some of their films I love, others I hate. I enjoyed The Matrix, but I hate The Matrix Revolutions. I liked Cloud Atlas, but I will never watch Speed Racer, no matter how much money you're offering. Which is why I'm coming at Jupiter Ascending from an odd angle, I can't say for sure whether it'll be good or bad.

The Voices
Ryan Reynolds, Anna Kendrick, Gemma Arterton, Jacki Weaver
I really don't know what to say about The Voices other than... "wtf". That's my only response. That may well be my review of the film. This movie takes being completely insane to a whole other level, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. Go watch the trailer, you will know exactly what I mean.

February 13th

Kingsman: The Secret Service
Taron Edgerton, Samuel L. Jackson, Colin Firth, Mark Strong
This is amongst my top 5 in my most anticipated films of the year, and there are a lot of reasons for that. Matthew Vaughn is one of my personal favorite directors working today. Colin Firth and Samuel L. Jackson are both awesome actors. I love spy movies. All of these would be good enough, but then you've got the source material. This movie is based on a graphic novel by the same guy who made Kick-Ass. Even better is that Matthew Vaugh also made the movie adaptation of Kick-Ass.

February 27th

House of Cards Season 3
Kevin Spacey & Robin Wright
I don't usually put TV shows on here, but with House of Cards I'm gonna be willing to make an exception. This is an amazing show, I love it so-far, I cannot wait for season 3. I guarentee my review of this season will come almost right after it comes out, because I will more than likely binge the whole thing in a night.
