Movies I want to See in 2014

Now that 2013 is over, I'm gonna take a look at the movies I'm excited to see in 2014.

Interstellar
The upcoming science fiction film from Christopher Nolan has certainly got my attention. Why? Because Nolan is well known for making mind-bending films. And this one, I know nothing about. From what I can tell from the trailer, it looks like it's gonna be something with space. But knowing Nolan, there's gonna be a lot more than that.

Godzilla
Normally, I'm not one to get very excited over these types of films. However, this one is from the director who helmed the movie Monsters back in 2010. Incase you haven't seen it, Monsters is a giant monster movie, with a very creative and kinda genius take on the genre. Knowing this, I can't wait to see how this movie will turn out.

The Grand Budapest Hotel
Wes Anderson has earned his reputation amongst the film community as the quirkiest of quirky directors. Last years Moonrise Kingdom seemed like the apex of his style, but this year we seem to be reaching new limits by having a ton of Wes Anderson-isms right off the bat with the title, trailer, and characters. Pile on the fact that this seems to have every single actor Wes Anderson has ever worked with, and then a few more. Count me in.

22 Jump Street
When I heard 22 Jump Street was in production, I immediately thought it was going to one of the lamest comedies of 2014. However, watching the trailer, I get the feeling I was very wrong. It seems to have that same 21 Jump Street charm that gave the first movie such a fanbase, but now they've mixed in all the elements of the first American Pie movie, and now we have 22 Jump Street.

The Hobbit pt. 3
The ending of The Hobbit pt. 2 left me hanging on a level I have never seen. I'm anticipating this film very highly, simply because I know how epic this is going to be. You'll have all the things in the second film coming together, in one two and a half hour battle of badassery.

Sin City A Dame to Kill For
This has been one of my most anticipated films for the last 2 years, I've been on edge on the new Sin City movie for a while. Why? Because I'm a fan of Sin City, I really love the first one, and hope that they can nail it just as much with this one.

The Monuments Men
This movie was one of my most anticipated films of 2013, and I'm actually kind of glad it got moved to 2014 because A: That was one less movie to see in the big rush that was fall 2013, and B: Because it means Winter movie season is going to have one of the best films of the year.

Better Living Through Chemistry
If you're familiar with my taste in film, you probably know I'm a fan of Sam Rockwell. He's done a lot with his career, been snubbed from the Oscars god knows how many times. And while this film itself doesn't look like something the Oscars notice, it sure looks like a crazy film. And that's what I like about Sams films, they're either fun and crazy, and he does a good job at that, or it's Moon and you get one of the best performances ever.

Neighbors
Seth Rogen is one of my favourite comedians in films. I can't help it, I think he's just funny. And this film doesn't look anything short of totally hilarious. Does it look like an intelligent movie? No, it looks like a Seth Rogen comedy, the humour will probably not be clever and smart humour, I'm not expecting In Bruges here.

Hellion
Again, this is another film that I know absolutely nothing about. The only thing I know is that Aaron Paul is in it, and it's getting good reviews from Sundance. I'm really excited for this because, as a fan of Breaking Bad, I want to see what Aaron Paul can do post-Breaking Bad (besides Need for Speed).

Gone Girl
I am a huge David Fincher fan, so when I heard he was adapted Gone Girl to film I said "Huh?". Yep, that's right, let the anger rain down- I haven't read Gone Girl. What can I say, I'm a film buff, I like watching movies more than books. If I hear a book is good, I'll read it no doubt, but not if a film version is on it's way. And from what I've heard the book is very dark, so expect Finchers adaptation to be even darker.
