Under the Skin
Scarlett Johansson
The Rover
Guy Pearce, Robert Pattinson, Scoot Mcnairy
If you know me, you may know I'm a fan of post-apocalyptic stuff. You know, Mad Max, Fallout, that sorta thing. Knowing that, I'm bound to be excited for this film. Now, I know a lot of people don't like Robert Pattinson because of Twilight, however if you look at some of his other work (Cosmopolis for example) you'd see the dude is a pretty good actor. What I like about this trailer is that I don't really know what's going on. This is going to be one of the few films I know little about going into it.
Foxcatcher
Steve Carrel, Channing Tatum, Mark Ruffalo
It may be hard to believe it, but yes that actually is Steve Carrel. This film has caught my eye for a couple of reasons. 1: This may be a big career shift for both Carrel and Channing Tatum, and 2: This is actually a pretty interesting story. The thing is, Bennett Miller is directing this film, so I'm really hoping this film gets him the attention he deserves.
A Most Wanted Man
Philip Seymour Hoffman, Rachel Mcadams, Willem Dafoe, Robin Wright
(Couldn't find a trailer, but I found a clip from the film)
Unfortunately, we recently lost one of cinemas greatest actors, Philip Seymour Hoffman. There may have been other reasons I wanted to see A Most Wanted Man before this happened, but right now this film is here mainly because (besides Mockingjay) I'm pretty sure this is his last film.
Enemy
Jake Gyllenhall, Mélanie Laurent
Back in 2013, a film called "Prisoners" came out, and although it didn't make my top 15, I was a fan. This film actually looks like a step up from that for Denis, it seems like it still has that dark and really disturbing realism of Prisoners, but with this he's added a plot that's intriguing as hell. Jake Gyllenhall looks like he's doing a damn good job acting here, adding enough subtle difference between the characters so that it's slightly noticeable they're not the same person.
The Double
Jessie Eisenberg, Mia Wasikowska
It's almost a rule in film nowadays, every year we're going to get two films that are (for the most part) different, save for one detail. Last year it was Olympus has Fallen & White House Down, this year it's The Double and Enemy. The thing is though, Richard Ayoade is a different director than Denis Villeneuve, so these will be two very different movies. Both of which look awesome.
